UV Curing
UV curing systems use high-intensity ultraviolet light, typically in the UV-A range (365–405 nm), to rapidly polymerise and harden inks, adhesives, coatings, and encapsulants. When UV light activates photoinitiators within the liquid formulation, monomers and oligomers crosslink to form a solid polymer network almost instantaneously. LED-based UV curing offers precise control, compact footprints, and significantly lower energy consumption compared to traditional mercury-lamp or thermal-curing methods. Common applications in electronics manufacturing include conformal coating cure, adhesive bonding, encapsulation, and protective coating crosslinking on PCBAs and assembled components.
